Paul, it is selectable in 2, 4, and 6amp. There is an led charge status 
feature that stays mostly on the last light which indiacates its charged. 
You can hear the little guy ramp up and feel the fan going during trickle 
charge activity. To hear it everything else in the shack is off because it 
is not very loud.
