Hi Jim:

My biggest complaint with the Jupiter is the speaker output, they use a
push/pull output that cannot be grounded. Cheap way of doing it, Drake did
the same thing on their SW-8. This negates using my external speaker which
has two input positions on it. I use one input for my JRC NRD545DSP Receiver
and would like to use the other for the Jupiter but cannot. I bought a
$19.95 speaker from Radio Shack, in the meantime I'm going to try some
isolation methods and try to isolate the Jupiter speaker out. Capacitors
will not work.

I use a transmit bandwidth of 2550 or 2400 just to keep my sig from
QRMing adjacent freqs.

Mic gain depends on mic. I use a Radio Shack Pro 301 dynamic studio mic
with gain at 100% and R72 on the logic board set full gain. When I use the
TenTec 701 hand mic I set the mic gain to about 5 to 20%

    I use 60% processor.

I run about 400Watts PEP with a Amp.
