I am sitting here looking over the "spec" sheet that TT passed out =
at the Dayton Hamvention and I must admit that what I read is =
impressive. Now, would I sell my Omni VI that I just had upgraded by TT =
or my Corsair II....NOT ON YOUR LIFE!

But, as someone who is interested in computers and amateur radio, I =
sure am impressed with what Ten-Tec has done for $895.00. And the fact =
that it is general coverage....well I kinda miss that option, I haven't =
had general coverage since I traded in my Paragon on the Omni VI.

Personally, I think the Kachina is a very fine "virtual" =
radio....does many things very well. At the same time, I think Ten-Tec =
should be applauded for what they have produced for a very small amount =
of money.....comparitively.

Change is not always good, but to change and advance is. Radios =
with knobs and buttons will one day be a thing that only the wealthy can =
afford. I don't think they will disappear, but they will definitely =
diminish in models and numbers. Economics of manufacturing will take =
care of that.

Man will never fly, never set foot on the moon or other planets and =
you will never carry a radio in a shirt pocket. Think about it....

Don't pick it apart before we have a chance to use it, fidle with it =
pick it to death and generally say "I just wish it would do this." Only =
time will tell how the market for such a radio will develope and what it =
is really worth to the amateur community.

Apples to apples, and thankfully....now there will be a choice. =
But, I think before it is over, there will be more choices.
