1 - The Model 250 supplies 1A regulated and 8 amps unregulated for the 405
amplifier.

2-  If your 250 has regulated 8A (and with dimming meters I doubt it) it was
modified.

3 - Your 405 meter lamps may have been replaced with 12V bulbs at some
point.

4 -  Dimming meter lamps on the 405 during TX are normal and one of those
quirly Ten*Tec "features" that you either let drive you nuts or smile and
enjoy.
