I had a Heathkit SB-220 amp which used a pair of
3-500z's. It maxed out at about an honest killowatt.
I don't know if it had to do with the design, power supply,
or tubes, but that was all it was rated to put out by
Heathkit. (2000 watts INPUT).
I only used it for maybe a month. Got tired of being a
channel master (appliance wiper outer) and sold it.
100 watts is just fine for the upper bands.
I do wish I'd have kept it for 20 on down though. Oh well.
