A better solution for the coax balun is to use a solid dielectric coax such 
as RG-213 and wind about 15 to 18 ft on a piece of 3" ID PVC pipe.  Remember 
more turns, longer coil length equals more inductance.   The 8" diameter is 
much much too large for and efficient coaxial balun unless you are making it 
for the AM broadcast band.   I refer to these as "the ugly balun".  They 
will handle all the power you can generate with nil for loss.  Even with a 
10:1 SWR it is happy.
