If Ten Tec thinks the future of amateur is "outboard" computer =
controlled radios they are on the wrong track. On board microprocessor =
controlled radios will be the vast majority of new units sold in the =
years to come. The new Pegasus will appeal to a few but the software =
will be the key factor in how many they sell. Will Ten Tec make =
available the source code so others can learn or improve on it?=20
What overwhelming new features does it have that will make people give =
up their present radio? Radios that are controlled by a computer are =
just a passing fad.=20
Witness the WinRadio... how many SWL'ers have those installed in their =
computers compared to the number using the "old" stand alone Short Wave =
receivers?
Computer hobbyists may disagree but... there are some things that the =
computer dont make better just cause it is attached to it.
