A key missing point here is what kind of transmatch and antenna is being
used? Also, how long is the connection to earth ground, if any, especially
is it a critical quarter wave at the band with problems? Also, the length
of jumper coaxes, mike and power AC and DC cables must be the same for any
meaningful comparison to other rigs to be made. All of the wire is System
when it comes to RF and the possibility of there being a gap in RF bypassing
somewhere. In switching rigs, we often forget we had to add some coax
jumper to reach the other rig, but that will totally change the test
condition if long enough combined with everything else.Another detail is how
high up is the antenna from the station. IE, a second floor station is
going to have more trouble keeping RF in check than one right next to ground
floor outer wall, convenient to earth, rather than having to run a long
conductor, which sits in the antenna fields.

Very interesting thread.
