Well you know, don't you, that at one point the Ten Tec engineering
department was working on a mobile version of the Jupiter, complete with a
voice module to inform you of the frequency, mode, etc. at the push of a
button so that you wouldn't have to take your eyes off the road to find out
what frequency you were on. There were also some advanced safety features
for road hazards built in that they were testing for possible future use --
traffic radar and so forth.
But they had to scrap the prototype.
You see, every time they ran into heavy traffic conditions with the rig on,
all they would get out of the Jupiter II was "Warning! Warning! Danger
Will Robinson, Danger!"
