OK Paul, try this.  Connect a second antenna to the "RX ANT" jack, and
switch to receiving on a separate jack.  Turn the transmitter power down
low, and then key it and see if the problem still exists when using the RX
ANT.

There is no linear connected and when it comes back weak it is the whole
receiver chain S meter is lower too. Like there was an attenuator cutting in
and out. The attenuator is off.

The other problem at turn on---maybe the tubes haven't warmed up hihi. I'm
an OT and more at home with those.
