Jerry:

I'm running an Orion II remote with wireless LAN connecting the control
point to the remote site through a RemoteRig. Any chance the 301 can be
rigged to work over a serial port connection?

Streve,
I don't have any problems with the links on
<http://users.hal-pc.org/~kg5u/301.html>. The schematic is so simple it is
pathetic. All it consists of is a 125 pulse Quadrature, two channel (A/B)
encoder, connecting cable, and DB25M. Pretty simple. It could be
duplicated easily.

Pin 1 and 14 of DB25M is ground
Pin 6 connects +5VDC to the encoder
Pin 8 of DB25M connects to channel A of encoder Pin 16 of DB25M connects to
channel B of encoder

That is it!

Found that page on a Gooogle search - links to the pictures and schematic
don't work anymore - page is dated 2001.
