I am restoring a Triton II and in recent on the air trials on 80m, I
noticed that the RIT changes the TX freq +/- 200 Hz. The RX frequency
change is substantially more (10X or so...varies with band). In
exploring the design, I am starting to believe that may be "normal"
for this rig. A transistor (A138) is used to short out the RIT
potentiometer but still has a 110 mV drop across it (Emitter to
Collector) when the RIT is disabled or during TX.
Does anybody have experience that can verify this behavior?
I am rebuilding a Triton I as well, but I am still a way away from
having it usable enough to compare behaviors.
If somebody has a data sheet for an A138 transistor that they are
willing to scan? I would appreciate getting a copy.
Thank-you for reading and considering my questions.
