It is, and always has been a violation to use an amplfier on
the citizens band. Therefore, making an amplifier for that purpose
says a lot for a company that did!
Then again, it does not meet type acceptance to sell amateur gear
that will transmit on frequencies outside of the ham bands, but there
is a whole bunch that do.
Whenever there is a market, there will be unscrupulous people ready
to take advantage of it.
