Hello Everyone,

Just a few comments about the net after a suggestion was made by one ot the
stations checking in yesterday. The comment was, "Why not take a just a few
check-ins, and then pass it around". I also believe that's the way it should
be
done, and Will/KC5QWE agrees. In fact, in the past few weeks, sincet he net
started, I have mentioned during the net that I believe it should be done
that
way. Unfortunately, it has not worked out that way, yet. I believe what has
happened is Will/KC5QWE and I have gotten so caught up in trying to check in
everyone that the time just gets away from us. The reason I feel it's
important
to do things this way is that some stations that check in simply don't have
a
lot of time to sit at the radio, especially on a Sunday afternoon, but would
still like to participate for more than the 10-15 seconds it takes to check
in.
Also, conditions have not been good, and if too much time passes between the
check-in and passing it back to that station again for a few comments, the
conditions will probably change. So, this coming week, about 5 check-ins
will be
taken, and then it will be passed between those stations so that they can
make
their comments before taking other check-ins.

Yesteday the net was also assisted by Dave/N1LQ whom has graciously
volunteered
his services to assist with check-ins. I think between Dave (Boston area),
Will
(Dallas area), and myself (L.A. area) we should be able to check-in everyone
who
would like to participate.

One last thought, when you check in, you might let the net control know how
much
time you can spend on the net that day, whether it be 10 minutes, 30
minutes, or
what ever. Then we'll know which stations we need to go back and pick up.

Here's hoping for better conditions!
