Omni is a ham band only It will transmit where ever it will tune to but
not outside the 500kc per each tuning segment set up on the vfo/crystal
mixers. Paragon has general coverage recieve ham band transmit and the
mod opens the transmit to match the general coverage recieve. I don't
know all the MARS freq. but the Omni will only go over and under the ham
band a small amount, may not be the best MARS rig. Here lies the trade
off of a great ham rig or a general coverage tranciever wanabe!
