Jeez, you old folks need a yung'n like me (and a tech-minus to boot!)
to remind you that before FM MPX stereo there were some that broadcast
one channel on AM and the other on FM, and their AM tuners were
spectacular?  I recall a friend picking up an old Lafayette out of
a dumpster 'round 81 or so that I used to monitor the college radio
station.
