Tnx to Paul (W8KC) and Patrick (K9PF) for your reasoned thoughts. I have
not changed my mine as yet since there is the possiblity that I can modify
my Omni 6+ . There is a Drake TR-7 out there that is quite capable of 5 MHZ
and it took only the loss of ONE resistor to acheive this results.
Hopefully the old Drakes will still be around "several years" from now. I
know that the "treatment" has NO side-effects. But I say again I do not
mind being negative at times unless there is some means by which the Omni
6+ can be capable of 5 MHZ. Again, is there some means by which the Omni 6+
can work 5 MHZ?? There was a rumor that the Paragons could be made to work
1.8 MHZ to 30 MHZ. But I do not know that. Tnx de KJ4ZM Sam
