12 volts can be unforgiving too. All should avoid wearing rings and
metal bands on wrist watches when working on 12 volt equipment. 30 amps
through a ring can do a lot of damage to a finger. Short a storage
battery through the ring and it might lead to loss of the finger. Ditto
a metal wrist watch band across battery terminals can do a great deal of
damage to the wrist. Don't be complacent around battery operated
equipment. A AA nicad can supply enough current when shorted to heat the
wire beyond comfortable.
