I need some help. The Orion manual is not very lucid on QSK
connections. I presume the workings are similar to the Omni, etc.,
but since this is my first T-T radio, I'm not up to speed.
My AL-1200 has the Pin diode QSK switch (QSK-PC) built in. With
an IC-781, it was only necessary to key the AL-1200 from the radio's
RELAY line. This appeared to meet the timing requirements for the
AL-1200 (e.g. no hot keying of the PIN diode QSK switch).
Wondering how this is best done from the Orion or other T-T radios,
e.g., is it necessary to use the Keying Loop or just the Relay output?
And if the keying loop is a better option, how it should be connected
to the QSK-PC in the AL-1200?
Can anyone with experince with T-T and the AL-1200 QSK system
weigh in on this? I'm feeling obtuse today ..
Thanks ... Grant
