I bought my Corsair II new Oct 29, 1987. From day one, the digital
display was erratic on the low end of 17 meters. A friend had bought one
about
the same time, and it also was erratic on 17 meter digital display. He
called Ten
Tec, they reported that two transistors on the LOGIC board, Q-1 & Q-2, which
were MPS 6514 transistors, were marginal to do the job. My buddy told them I
was also having the same problem. They sent him several replacement
transistors,
some 3963 and some 2N4124. My buddy used the 3963's, I used the 2N4124's to
replace Q-1 and Q-2, and neither has seen this problem again.
Just a slim chance that this might be your problem.
