Probably most of these add on audio DSP units have both a noise reduction mode which maintains the full bandwidth of the input audio, and a bandpass filter mode which lets reduced bandwidth of of audio through. When the bandwidth is limited we call this selectivity, whether it is done in the IF or in the audio stages. Refer to the ARRL Handbook.
