There are several, I read Radio Wizard just over a year ago while
searching for information on ham radio in Story County/Ames Iowa before
the present radio club began. It said he was in Ames at a short wave
short course as a teen. But all I've been able to find have been ARRL
section conventions in that era. I did a history of the Story County ARC
then and titled it Part II because I know there is ham history in the
county before the time the present club began. Whether organized is
another question. The Cyclone radio club on campus dates back to the
19teens.

More than one of the other histories paints Art as a god and worships
him ignoring those foibles I encountered. Radio Wizard isn't so much
that way and generally agrees with my opinion of Art. It doesn't deify
or worship him.

There is a new Collins history out sanctioned by the present
Rockwell-Collins, I've not seen it.

A search on Amazon with three words arthur collins radio turned up both
of these. A similar search on abebooks turned up "Radio Wizard" and a
book coauthered by Art in 1973.

Here's another from the Iowa State University library:
> The first 50 years : a history of Collins Radio Company and the Collins
> Divisions of Rockwell International / by Ken C. Braband ; with excerpts from
> articles by R.L. Carrel ... [et al.].

Jay Miller's pictorial history of Collins ham gear I recall mentions Art
many times and hints he could do no wrong, which describes Art's own
evaluation of his actions.
