CONGRATULATIONS!

This will follow up on my previous post....I always wondered with advent
of incentive licensing why I couldn't pass just the 20 wpm, and get the
Extra CW portions - I had the Advanced (took during the year or so they
experimented with giving it at Civil Service
Exams in a few states) and as a young low paid teacher, couldn't
afford to travel to a quarterly examining point - Atlanta, Knoxville, or
Cincy.

Then with the first VEC test 50 miles away, I went with a friend who
drilled me on the written exam while I drove us. After the cw exam, the
examiners said "You had 100% copy!" I said,
"Sure." Thanks to my friend, and ignoring the more complicated math
problems, I also passed the written, but I'm sure not 100%!

It turned out I've used the Extra more for heading a VE team and giving
dozens of exams, rather than using the bottom 25 Khz., but I did finish
DXCC and enjoy the extra bit of cw and now the big slot of ssb
frequency. So, if you have the ultimate license, I hope you will search
out or start a VE team and pass along the fun.
