Ten Tec reflector,
<< Problem: After 20 seconds or so the Titan input SWR increases to over 3:1
from it's normal 1:1 SWR and afterwards is intermittant, sort of cycling,
back and forth between a high SWR and a normal input SWR. When my FT-1000
exciter "sees" the high SWR, it, of course, drops the excitation power to
practically nothing. >>
Over half a dozen of you emailed me with suggestions. Thank you.
I replaced the fried R1 resistor in my Ten Tec bias board. Same problem
as before. I ordered a new bias board from Ten Tec and installed it,
actaually before I did the above. Result: A 20 amp fuse blew as soon as I
turned the Titan on.
Yesterday, I shipped the Titan RF deck, the PS without the transformer
(Ten tec's suggestion), and the replacement bias board back to Ten Tec.
I asked them to fix the problem, provide any upgrades, and check the
unit out thoroughly.
This is the second time I've returned the Titan to ten tec in three
years. I am seriously considering selling the it....any offers?
