I used to do as John suggests, i.e., use WhiteOut correction fluid,
but I discovered it did grab the plastic well long term, and was more
difficult to control when painting it - AND... here is the kicker... it
tends to yellow and discolored from handling. When a general
all purpose cleaner, like John's 409, does not get the click...
as it should... I use naphtha.
Of course, your mileage may vary. It could be I have higher
alkalinity or different PH factors, and it may not discolor
for you like it did for me. I tarnish guitar strings faster than
most. (I buy my guitar strings from a ham in AZ...)
Just MY take.

I had trouble seeing the phone mic inputs the markings were just raised
blk plastic as you know . I used white out to high lite them and when I
sold the radio I sprayed on a little 409 onto a rag and rubbed the white
out off . Used it on several different radios and works every time .

I do that with knobs of all sorts, but my weapon of choice is a silver
Sharpie pen, that writes with a metallic ink (which is more of a paint
than an ink.) It allows me to remove it if I don't like my results,
which I clean off with Naphtha.
Try it... you want a photo of some of my knobs before you try it?
Just ask, friend.

Has anyone ever tried to put white coloring on the tops of the black
molded lettering on the front panel of the Orion?
I am considering giving it a try using a fairly hard rubber roller and
some white paint of some sort.
