There's nothing special about solid state circuitry that affects how a
microphone sounds or whether it will work. It's as simple as the
available gain in the mic circuit to handle a low-Z mic, keeping the
input impedance high enough that it doesn't cause too much loading of a
high Z mic, and tailoring the audio response in a manner suitable for
SSB communications.
I'm a retired audio professional, and own a wide variety of pro mics.
All of the dynamic mics work very well with every ham rig that I've
plugged them into. The only thing I've had to do with most rigs is
tailor their response by adding a low value capacitor in series to
tailor their response to be more like a Shure 444, which is pretty close
to ideal for ham radio.
