Some newer multi-meters have a separate switch position for diode tests.
Using that, you can identify cathode end of the diodes. and a higher
reading in the reverse direction, if the diode is not open or shorted.
Some read and display junction voltage, 0.25 Volts DC for Germanium types and 0.5 volts for Silicon diodes. I don't have access to an Omni VI, but the same principles apply to any diode network in other rigs. Hopefully, someone will have the requisite manual and drawing of the diodes mounted on their board. -Stuart Rohre K5KVH |
