My take on the caution about fouling up the lubricant on switches is tha
the lube is probably dry and hard by now, over years, and the liquid in
DeOxit may improve the switch action and reduce forces and friction. It
is formulated to attack oxidation, which is something you want removed--
for only Silver oxide is a good conductor, most oxides are a source of
troubles.
