Hi Barry,
This might not be very helpful, but I have had the same problem
(although not as pronounced) with my OMNI VI+ for a few years now.
It appears on both TX and RX, but it is band-dependent. It happens
on 30M, but not on 40M or 20M.
Does your "warble" appear on all bands, or just some bands?
I am guessing that this is an intermittent connection (wiring
harness, connector or solder joint).
I operate mostly on 40 and 20, so I haven't bothered to fix it. Maybe
now is the time. :-)
