The fan is AC, and the answer I received from TT was they erred on the
side of louder noise to assure maximum cooling for the 811A's. If you
remove the covers, you will find the fan is not loud at all. The noise
is caused by the close proximity of the slotted cabinet side. Makes
one wonder if the design and testing was done with the cabinet off and
it was finally put on the day before announce (to a resounding "Whoops!"
but too late to make modifications). I'm only guessing about this...

------------------------------------------------
Hello everyone,

Has anyone figured out wy Ten Tec is using a minature cyclone in the Centaur?
Maybe they got a super price on several hundred thousand of them. Any one take
notice if the fan is AC or DC? Just wondering.

Jay, KM6VX
