I think it is the second edition, from 1959. There is great detail on
many aspects of radio including the antenna section and the propagation
section. The relevant section for this discussion was chapter 1 where
it compares SSB and AM.

the same book that the company used to give out to potential commerical
customers back in the early 60's? I have that book, and it is a good
one on
not only SSB but has a bit on antennas. Nice that it is again
available.
