[TenTec] Argosy problems

I have a TT Argosy 525D which has S9+30db noise on the lower bands (30 , 40 
and 80) which is intermittant. Nothing new electrical in the house and I 
dont think we got hit by a Sun Fart. Tried replacing patch cords with no 
result. Radio ran fine at nite last nite but the static is back today. On 
occation it goes back to normal for a couple seconds but comes back loud.

Any ideas ??????
