About 2-3 years ago I bought a brand new "Original" Model Vibroplex Bug,
directly from Vibroplex. It arrived with a severely bent Dah contact
adjustment screw. Before I could even use the bug I had to rob the Dah
contact post assembly from a spare Vibroplex keyer paddle I had. It took me
3 telephone calls to Vibroplex before they finally sent a replacement post /
contact screw assembly. The shipping box was not damaged so this Bug was
shipped from the factory this way. I have used Vibroplex paddles for about
32 of the 37 years I have been a ham. Simply because I think they have the
best mechanical design and feel. However saying all that, it appears their
Quality Control has become pitiful! I told Mitch, the company owner about
my experience at Dayton that same year but he did not seem too interested in
my misfortune. If you buy a new Vibroplex paddle just loosen everything all
up, realign all the parts and tighten it all back up.
