The way to do this is:
1. With RF Gain at maximum, tune in an s9+ signal and turn up AF Gain till
its as loud as you can comfortably tolerate. Leave your AF Gain here
always.
2. With your AF Gain setting now established, all you have to ever do is
set your RF Gain so that you can just hear band noise. Make slight
adjustments to RF (not AF) Gain as necessary to attain proper level
