[TenTec] Updates/Mods to my Orion 565?

The battery finally died, so I'm wondering what else I can do to cure other
real, perceived or eventual ailments while the beast is open. The radio i
about 10 yeras old, with the hardware upgrade to allow v3 firmware (which I
run) and the 366 second receiver installed.
