It was amazing this weekend. I had my II cranked down to 300Hz in
bandwidth: it just seemed like things were busy. At no time was
receiving obviously hit with any signals that shouldn't have been in
the passband. The "<wiggle fingers> useless <stop wiggling fingers>"
sweep full of signals.
Amazing radio. Sounds like you had fun!

The Orion won ..... the FT1000 had so many buttons I never even
switched it
on ! And I found the Orion extremely user-friendly as long as I

delight to use on CW.
There may well be software glitches that need fine tuning, but as

home with me.
I also liked the Alpha 99, but it was noisier than my Hercules II.
