I think the 962 regulates in the negative lead and the 961 in the positive.

I have one of each; I believe the difference is  in the transformer used.
I prefer to use the 961,  the older one.  I "believe" it has the more
robust xfmr.  The 2,  again I have been told this,  so it is
rumor, uses a less costly xfmr  built up in Canada,  not that that is
any issue.  Perhpas this is all fable also,  hi.
