yes that should work, my Dad had a mount made for a KWM2 to fit the hump
most cars today you can not mount a radio I got a ft857d this is the only
radio I can use in my car. 73 Rod

Rod,
have you seen the Eagle? It is small enough to fit on a slant board
made up to fit the transmission hump on cars, and thus angle the panel
up toward easy control use while mobile. Some have held such rigs to
home made mounts by bungee cords and drilling out the board for the feet
to be held in place against the rig sliding down the board.
In a rental car situation, bungee cording the rig to the passenger seat
can work. With a window ajar, you can route the power cable to the car
battery under the hood for lowest voltage drop.
