Some decades back, a ham tried to
power a FT101 with a generator attached to a 10 speed bicycle. I think tenth
gear produced 40 watts out.

It takes a lot of muscle power to even power a 15 watt or less HF radio
from the crank generators. I don't think it feasible to do so with a
100 watt ham radio, if such a generator existed.
In about 15 minutes we were tired out back when I was a college lad in
good shape, and that was on an Army AN/GRC9 low power radio! Could not
lift a finger to a 100 watt capable hand crank job today.
