If you manage to acquire a Hercules II, you won't have to wait for the
PA2...my Herc II puts out 260W+ with just 12W of drive from my K2. I run
mostly QRP CW but the extra power sure does come in handy when checking into
80m and 40m SSB nets.

Subject: [TenTec] WTB: Tentec Hercules II
Sometime in the next year or two, I would like to find a Hercules II
linear amp to purchase. No rush, no panic, but I would like to put a bug
into the ear of someone out there who might 'eventually' be ready to
sell or trade one. (I have some non-Tentec gear to trade).
Why do I want it? Well, mostly because the Titan amp which I have is not
automatic bandswitching. Also, I would like a good, solid amp to use
with my completely battery powered station and then would reconnect
the control wiring to use with the OmniVI for contest. I have a 500Ah
bank of batteries just outside the shack that would do well running a
Herc II. The backup rig is, for now, an ICOM IC706/II but will likely be
swapped out for a K2 if Eric ever gets the PA to market. Something like
that. Unfortunately, TT stopped making these gems about a year before I
was ready to buy one.(Same thing happened on the Titan, but in time I
was able to find one used)
I have looked into some other solid state 13.8V linears, and they are
all lacking.
Drop me a note. Let's negotiate!
