I use the Sennheiser HD280s which I purchased from BSW
(www.bswusa.com) for $80, but I note that they have gone up to $100
now. They are ear enclosing and have great isolation and a flat
frequency response from 8 Hz up to beyond what the human ear can hear
(way beyond what anyone would need for ham radio see
http://www.bswusa.com/proditem.asp?item=HD280). These things are
important to me but for some types of operating they might not matter
or even be a liability--for example they might be completely
unnecessary for cw operating. Also, I do not wear glasses when
operating. On that note, I would consider using a pair of those ear
bud type cans.
I have noticed the ear bud design is starting to get used quite a bit
by people in broadcasting doing several hours of air work every day so
they must be pretty comfortable, and of course the issue of eye
glasses is circumvented by their design. For example, you might
consider these: http://www.bswusa.com/proditem.asp?item=IE4
