I'm using a #225 PS temporarily to power an OMNI VI (receive only). The
cover of this 10 amp unit gets really hot over the transformer. Not having
used the PS for years, I can't figure whether it's always run hot or the
transformer's windings are about to melt down. No visible problem that I can
make out.

Ten-Tec provided only a couple of side vents toward the rear of the unit, so
I guess someone figured heat would not be
a problem. I'm used to an Icom PS125, which has a fan as well as more vents
and it's a switching supply, not a linear.

Tnx

John, W3ULS
