Tom et al . FWIW . There is yet another "easy" way to measure Zo .. Just
measure the input impedance to the structure versus a range of frequency and
plot the points on a Smith chart. Assuming the measurement instrument is
reasonably good , the points will fall in a circle around the Zo of the
structure. The center of the points is then the Zo. High losses will make
the points spiral in some but the center of them should still be apparent ..
the other neat thing about this is that it will allow the measurement of a
complex Zo rather than a purely resistive Zo...
