I run an IC746 with 500 Hz filters at both IFs. Not exactly brilliant in
the dynamic range department, but it's not as bad as many other radios. I
like the rig. Last year's 160 was difficult to wade through all the
thumping and clicking. Many of you remember the painful thread(s) on the
MP.
I noticed a marked decrease in clicking during this year's contest.
A special thanks to Tom-W8JI for working through the details of modifying
this wonderful radio.
To all the MPers out there that took the time, wrote the checks, and did
what it took to make your rig play correctly, a heart felt thank you.
I added 15% to my score this year. After one day of post contest jet lag, I
can honestly say my score is what it is because of me, not my opponents.
