Hello Steve, nice to read about your life changes. I know
this situation too: I born in Argentina, HAM since 13yrs old
as LU1DHR (not 160m activity there), then in 1973 (23 yrs old)
married I came here and after some years got : EC2GR/EA2ALW
and present EA2LU (both EA and LU, hihi). Mainly I was in VHF/UHF
and at this time QRV via Moonbounce too on 144Mhz band.
But my second goal is Top Band. Not enable to put antennas
at home (only short HF6V) I worked contest from mountain QTH.
There, is a Heliax tower of 27mtr high and 1meter per side, on top
there was trhee dishses for terrestrial air force contacts.
Since 1998 our group bought it (withouth dishses) and small
garden/ house togheter.
Last time I´am trying a inverted vee from this tower with absoluty
NIL results. It not resonate in any band (it is for top band), yesterday
I put a 3m long brace on one side, but again NIL.
the tower has three guy wires at 20m level and three guy wires
at 12m level all without any isolation (no eggs insulators).
As inverted vee user, ¿think you the tower/guys made interaction
to not resonance at all in my inverted Vee?
