Topband: HC2/UA4WAE

Hi All,
I was talking a few weeks ago with Otto HC2/UA4WAE
and he was to erect a better antenna ,probably a Vertical
for Topband. 
He has been on 1822 kHz this morning but nothing here.
I wonder if someone from US could compare his signal
this morning to a signal of YV1DIG who is usually 579 here ?
I just wonder if he has already a new antenna .
