W9DXCC, to be held Friday-Saturday, September 16-17, at the Holiday Inn in
Elk Grove Village, IL. The hotel is conveniently located just west of
O'Hare International Airport and just off Interstate 90 and offers a free
airport shuttle and a low room rate of $89 plus tax.
Programs highlights include VP8ORK South Orkney, CY0 Sable Island, a report
on K9CT's new 11-tower contest station, propagation by K9LA, and the banquet
speaker is ARRL President Kay Craigie, N3KN. The audio/visual setup is top
notch, making it easy to see and hear the programs.
The convention opens at 7:30 Friday evening with registration / packet
pick-up and a welcome reception, followed by a hospitality suite hosted by
the Northern Illinois DX Association. The Saturday activities run from
registration at 8 AM through the banquet at 6:30 and another hospitality
suite hosted by the Greater Milwaukee DX Association.
