Pat, I feel we need the opinions of knowledgeable and active operators
who actually are USING the frequency segments in question. Otherwise we'll
get folks giving inputs like making the national QRP frequency on 1910
(in the middle of the JA window!) Personally I would never consider giving
input on a VHF frequency issue because I never use VHF. In my opinion, the
majority users of the CW/SSB transition area (1840+/-) are DX'ers and
Contesters, probably in that order, but I welcome input from anyone as long
as they are an active operator on 160.
Regarding changing the contests, I've heard that for the 13 years I've been
on 160 and what has been done?! We still can't get observance of DX Windows
to work very well...end of case, QED. Think ahead a little and imagine a
world of no code licensees with no CW segmentation if you really want to get
yourself motivated on this issue!

P.S. to all: We're up to around 110 responses now so I will probably close
the poll Sunday evening. Please respond if you haven't done so yet.
