Worked VK9YY on 80m CW this morning (3515 lsn 1 up) - the gang managed to
get the Battle Creek Special up a couple of hours after they got off the
plane before VK9 sunset!
Despite having no Beverage, George reports VK9YY made three NA QSOs on 160m
last night (at NA Saturday sunrise) - K6VX, NX7K and N7XR. Other stations
were heard, but could not be pulled out of the QRN without a receiving
antenna. Work will go on today to rectify this situation.
George reports the final topband QSO total from VK9XX was 145, with seven
QSOs with North America. With three NA QSOs in the log already, he is
optimistic that things will be better on 160m from VK9YY.
Good luck to everyone!
Steve, VK6VZ
