Hi guys !
I understand very clearly that toploading short verticals is the key...
But here is the principal question: What is toploading in very restricted
areas ?
I mean, a T-ant is already a toploaded vertical ?! (vertical plus two
wires, whether horizontal or sloping wires, same electrical length)
When looking to the Eznec result of a 30feet vertical part T-ant, most of
the radiation is horizontal polarized and radiation comes from the (very low
!) horizontal wires... so were is the benefit ?!
You keep having a very low horizontal ant mainly, rather than have benefit
from low angle radiation of a vertical !
Any mistake ?!
In my situation, I cannot even have Two toploaded wires in opposite
directions, but basically only can take the L-antenna approach:
30feet vertical (10m) and a horizontal 30feet (10m ) wire - resonance has to
be done with a base loading, as Tom (W8JI) explained...
I am really hesitating to build up such a poor antenna, as I fear to become
frustrated quickly !
But the garden is only 8m by 12m...
Any possibility on 160m ?! ...... It becomes a mobile ant...hihi
